Offshore transfers: disadvantages of transport methods
The oil and gas industry has been using helicopters for years to transport personnel to and from installations at sea. The disadvantages of this include safety risks, limited use and inefficiency. Moreover, costly and high maintenance facilities are necessary for the accessibility of helicopters.
In the wind energy industry, however, small boats are used almost without exception. But with increasingly large wind farms further from the coast, the transfer time is increasing all the time. And small boats are extremely vulnerable to the situation at sea.

The Offshore Access System
A 21 metre long telescopic catwalk.
Automatically neutralises ships’ movements and waves up to 2 ½ metres.
It thus makes a safe coupling with the platform via a patented automatic system.
