Multifunctional and competitively priced drilling platform

In the southern part of the North Sea, there are many smaller gas fields that are difficult to access. Until recently it was not attractive to exploit small gas and oil fields where it is difficult to extract the raw fuels. Drilling in these fields with ‘normal’ drilling platforms was often too expensive. Swift Drilling, a joint venture between Cofely Oil & Gas and the Van Es Group, is changing this with a new compact and competitively priced drilling platform.

High-tech drilling installation elaborates on the ‘small field policy’

With the Swift drilling platform, Cofely elaborates on the ‘small field policy’ of the Dutch government. The aim of this policy is to maintain the level of the Dutch provision of gas. The new rig is a high-tech offshore drilling installation, smaller and more efficient than the usual platforms.
