Acquisition of Kalibra by Cofely
On Friday 19 June 2009, Cofely Nederland NV (formerly GTI NV) reached an agreement with the management of Kalibra International BV regarding the acquisition of Kalibra by Cofely with retroactive effect to 1 January 2009. This acquisition allows Cofely to achieve its goal of becoming the market leader in the field of calibration and, as a result, to be able to offer its clients an ever wider range of services.
Kalibra International BV specialises in calibrating, inspecting and maintaining measuring equipment. The company is based in Delft, has 75 employees and had 7.6 million euros turnover in 2008. At Cofely, there are 55 employees active in this specialisation. Cofely had a turnover of 5 million euros in 2008.
Kalibra and Cofely are together the expert in the Netherlands in the field of (re-)certification of measuring equipment and thereby ensure that all of their clients’ instruments meet the requirements in the field of (electrical) safety, quality and regulations.
The acquisition offers plenty of opportunities for the staff of the two companies and received a positive recommendation from both representative advisory organisations. The trade unions have also been informed. Kalibra International will continue under its own name. In 2010, an integration plan will be rolled out.
