LPCB Nederland presents first sprinkler installation maintenance certificate to GTI
Technical service provider GTI is the first organisation in the Netherlands to receive the official LPS 1233-3O certificate. The LPS 1233-3O certificate – which is recognised by both the government and insurers - is for organisations the proof and guarantee that the sprinkler installations are perfectly maintained. GTI received the certificate from the LPCB conformity testing service for the maintenance of the sprinkler installations at Kees Becker Logistiek in Zeewolde.
Since November 2008, companies have been required to possess a valid, government-recognised certificate showing that the sprinkler installation functions properly, is maintained and tested. GTI has built up years of knowledge and experience, so it is pleased to receive this certification. Jan Zaal, commercial manager of utilities at GTI Northwest comments: "We’re proud that GTI is the first technical service provider in the Netherlands to receive the LPS 1233-3O certificate for Kees Becker Logistiek. This certificate shows that an integral solution in the field of fire protection is a big added value to our customers. Within GTI, we call this Human Comfort, contributing to a comfortable and safe work environment in which these installations play an important role. GTI designs and installs these installations and is also the obvious party to test and maintain them. The certificate should be seen as a guarantee of good maintenance."
Since 2000, LPCB enforces the LPS 1233 regulation, which is focused on the certification of fire protection systems. The LPS 1233-3O is an expansion of the existing certification and is considered a maintenance certificate. Harrit Broos, general director of LPCB comments: "LPCB has recognised GTI Northwest as a sprinkler installer. The organisation has its maintenance reports in order and has earned this first certification." The government is currently introducing policy regulations with a reference to the LPS 1233 product certificate for maintenance. The fire department and various environmental services supervise the observance of these regulations.
